Here Is The List Of Places You Can Use Rs. 500 Currency Notes Till 15th December, 2016

The Rs. 1,000 currency notes have been declared invalid from today and Rs. 500 notes can be used at some chosen places till December 15, 2016. Here is the list of 21 places where you can still use Rs. 500 notes for making payments:

  • ·         At all government hospitals and pharmacies but with doctor’s prescription only.
  • ·         At all pharmacies but only with the prescription of doctor and an ID form.
  • ·         For booking railway tickets, airports and government or state-run bus stands.
  • ·         Central and state government’s milk booths.
  • ·         Burial grounds, crematorium
  • ·         State run petrol pumps, gas stations.
  • ·         Arriving and departing passengers can use these notes at the International airports.
  • ·         Foreign tourists can use Rs. 500 notes for exchanging currency.
  • ·         For buying at consumer cooperative stores.
  • ·         Making payments for cooking gas cylinders.
  • ·         During rail travel, for making payments for catering services.
  • ·         At metro stations for purchasing tickets.
  • ·         For buying entry tickets of any monument maintained by ASI.
  • ·         For making payments of taxes, penalties, charges etc., which will be paid to the central, state governments, municipal and local bodies.
  • ·         For paying bills of utility services such as water and electricity.
  • ·         For paying the fees of court.
  • ·         For buying seeds from selected centres.
  • ·         For paying the school fees of up to Rs. 2, 000 in the schools which are governed by the central, state, municipality or local-body.
  • ·         For paying fees in central, state government colleges.
  • ·         For recharging mobile phones up to Rs. 500 per recharge.
  • ·         For making purchases up to Rs. 5,000 at a time, through consumer cooperative stores.
