Indian Army Gave Clean Chit To The Officer Who Tied A Stone Pelter To His Jeep

The circumstances in Jammu & Kashmir are volatile since the death of terrorist Burhan Wani and the neighbour country do plays a special role in this regard. There was a drastic increase in the incidents of stone pelting on armed forces by the locals which made it difficult for the armed forces to carry on with their duties.

However, an army officer came up with a wonderful idea of stopping the stone pelters and that was to tie one of them in front of the army jeep. However, an FIR was filed against him by the police of the valley and court of inquiry took place on the 15th of April. Clean chit has been given to the officer who was behind the decision of tying a stone pelter to the jeep, a source said, 

Court martial is out of the question. Not even disciplinary action was recommended against the officer. He was congratulated for his acumen and presence of mind that saved many lives.

Despite the fact that there was a huge uproar against this act by the politicians, the army officers has praised the wisdom of Major L Gogoi, who is responsible for the act. Another source told, 

In the Army, attaining the objective is more important. The means used by the officer could have been different, but the objective was perfectly met."

The incident took place on the 9th of April in Budgam where stone pelters tried to intervene in the process of elections and Major Gogoi tied Farooq Ahmad Daron the jeep in order to save the lives of his army personnels who were travelling in a five vehicle convoy.
