Tanishq, the jewelry brand has once again created a controversy because of its latest advertisement in which four Bollywood actresses (Neena Gupta, Alaya F, Sayani Gupta and Nimrat Kaur) are seen telling how they will like to celebrate Diwali, this year.
One of the actresses says that she won’t be bursting firecrackers and also said everybody else should also refrain from bursting firecrackers. This advice from her didn’t went well with the netizens and a huge uproar was caused against this ad on the social media networks. People didn’t liked that only Hindus are preached about how to celebrate their festivals but nobody has any problem with animals getting killed on Eid and Christmas trees getting chopped on Christmas.
After
getting heavily slammed, Tanishq decided to pull the ad down but enough damage was
done to its brand and once again #BoycottTanishq started trending on the
micro-blogging site, Twitter.

This is not
the first time when Tanishq has faced the wrath of the netizens. Some time back
it released an ad in which a pregnant Hindu girl was shown married to a Muslim
man. The jewelry brand was thrashed left and right by the online users for
promoting love jihad and the protest gained momentum due to some real incidents
in which Hindus lost their lives.

That ad was
also pulled down by the division of Tata Group and they were criticized pretty
badly at that time as well.
