Meet The 77-Yr Young Grandmother Who Works More Than 80 Hrs/ Week For Her Family


Many times we have heard that age is a number but this statement doesn’t holds true for everyone of us. Most of us think of retiring from work after a certain age such as 55 or 60 yrs and then live our life comfortably but today we will let you know about a 77-yr old grandmother who is a businesswoman and works more than 80 hrs per week and her only motivation is her family.              


We are talking about Urmila Jamnadas Asher who is from Mumbai and is also known as Gujjuben. She has seen many tragedies in life, for example the mother of three lost her 2.5 yr old daughter when the baby girl accidently fall from the building, her younger son lost his life due to heart problem while the reason of older one’s demise was brain tumor. Any other woman may have lost her senses after losing her three kids but Gujjuben become stronger and she ensured that she keeps her family together and don’t let bad times affect their mental state.


If this all was not enough, one more tragedy struck her family when Harsh Asher, Gujjuben’s only grandson met an accident and his face got disfigured. The old lady is now helping her grandson in making his future by helping him in running a small food business GujjuBen Ka Nasta. People can order their favorite snacks and fresh home cooked snacks are delivered to them all over the city of Mumbai. Urmila Jamnadas Asher enters the kitchen in the morning 7 Am and leaves at 9 PM and ensures that all the orders are delivered on time. She has two helpers in kitchen while two men are given the responsibility of delivering the snacks and the accounts and technical things of the business are handled by Harsh Asher.

During the coronavirus lockdown, Harsh’s service was also affected and it was then they thought of starting this business and now it is running pretty well. Harsh stated that his grandmother never asks about the amount they are earning, she is just concerned with two things, whether they are earning enough to run their house and people are happy or not with the food.

Urmila Jamnadas Asher is an inspiration for many of us as her life is an example of courage, determination and hard-work.
