What is the Dress code for the Interview?

As we are already discussing the questions asked in an interview, let us not forget one of the most important aspect of facing interview, i.e the dress code for the interview

The dress worn by a candidate has a great impact on the interviewer as it reflects the attitude and personality of the candidate. The candidate should be very careful while choosing his/ her dress for the interview. The dress should be simple and sober and definitely not a flashy one. The dress helps a candidate in making a good first impression which creates a positive image of the candidate in the mind of the interviewer. If the candidate is not properly dressed, he will unnecessary create problems for himself even before the first question is asked.

Dress code for male candidates –

Male candidates should be in light color shirt and dark color trousers, tie should be matching with the shirt and trouser. Never wear ankle socks for an interview and also keep in mind that color of the socks should also match with the trousers and shoes. The color of shoes and belt should be same. One thing that a candidate should also keep in mind that he shouldn’t wear shirt with designs or checks for an interview as tie with a check design shirt is a big NO. The candidate should be shaved and hair properly combed, shoes must be polished.

Dress code for female candidates –

Dresses for the female candidates which are suited for interview are business suits and sarees. Business suits give a professional look to the candidate and the shirt should not be very dark colored, try to wear light color shirt. Saree should also be sober and simple with light design on it and it should be different for the saree worn in functions and parties. The makeup should be simple as you are going for an interview and not for a party.
Remember, the only thing which matters most for an interviewer is the ATTITUDE for the candidate and everything comes after that.

How to prepare for Interview - 2

Continuation from Part-1
As we have already discussed the questions

Q1. Q1. Please tell us something about yourself? &  Q2.Why should we hire you? in the article Interview Preparation – 1, now we are going to talk about the questions :

Q3. what is your aim in life?
A very simple question, even from the childhood our parents start asking us what you want to become when you grow up but for many of us answers change when we grow up. However, you should be careful while answering this question as your aim now should match the profile of the job, for e.g if you are giving interview for the post of sales manager and your answer to this question is that I want to become a pilot. Is there any way that you can get this job? There are some options to this answer:
(a)   I want to do good in my life, perform well in my job and attain a position in my life where I will be respected by the society and my parents will be proud of me.
(b)   I don’t keep long term aims as I live my life moment by moment, as there is nothing certain and I believe living my life in this moment as this is the most important moment of my life, and at this moment my aim is to get this job.

Q4. What do you want to join this particular sector?
You should be having a good idea of the answer to this question as it may be your first choice or you have worked hard and got the degree to work in this sector or the most booming and stable sector and you would be able to lead a happy and secure life if you join this sector. The answer will change person to person and circumstances, so be sure of giving proper answer as per your case.

We will be discussing more questions in next part…

How to prepare for Interview -1

Questions asked in an interview differ from job to job as they are based on the profile of the job; however, there are some common questions which are asked almost in every interview. Let us discuss some common questions and how a job aspiring candidate should answer them:

Q1. Please tell us something about yourself?
Introduction- This is the time for the candidate to tell the interview panel about himself. Introduction includes basic knowledge about the candidate, his native, educational background, family background and hobbies.
This is the first chance for the candidate to make a good impression on the interview panel. Remember, this is when you talk about yourself and if you are not good in talking about yourself, then you can’t be good in anything else. Your introduction should be simple, brief and defined in such a manner that it should give the interview panel a good idea about yourself.
Most of the time I have heard that my hobby is to play cricket, play chess, play volleyball etc., well, hobby is something which you like to do in your leisure time, now for playing cricket you need two teams which means twenty two players or even if you are talking about gully cricket you need at least 3-4 players. Now, is it certain that other people will also be free to play cricket when you are free? May be not. Hobbies like playing cricket, volleyball etc., should be avoided, instead you should be more creative and unique, and if you are not, at least try.

Q2. Why should we hire you?
Time to talk about your strengths, qualities, and characteristics and make the interview panel believe that hiring you will definitely be beneficial for the organization. You should give a considerable time in preparing for this question. First of all, find out the details of the job profile and then fit yourself in the job profile and present it in a beautified manner in front of the interview panel.
For now, we will be discussing this much only; next time we will talk more as well we will discuss some more questions like..

Q. what is your aim in life?

Q. what do you want to join this particular sector?

Q. why do you want to join this company?

Do you want to sleep more than 8 hrs a day? Think about it again

Every morning when the alarm goes on, you take out your hand out of your blanket and switch it off without even taking out your face out from the blanket. After that you sleep some more time until it becomes an emergency for you to get up coz you are getting late for the office or school. On the weekends, you are habitual of sleeping till late as you have off from office or school and you can afford to enjoy the pleasure of sleep.
If this is the daily routine of your life then you are definitely preparing a platform for developing problems which you will be facing in the future.

Now, if you ask what is the problem in taking a good sleep or if you say that I need to sleep this much to feel good or to keep yourself healthy, then you are wrong. An average person needs a balanced sleep of 6-7 hrs daily in order to keep fit while 5-6 hrs of sleep is also sufficient but sleeping more than 8 hrs is not good for health.

A balanced sleep will make your mood refreshing and keep you healthy, fit and fine while oversleeping will cause lethargy, changes in mood, irritation on getting up.
Have you ever thought that waking up late in the morning on the weekdays will not give you enough time to take breakfast which will keep you hungry for the day till lunch and suppose if you are so busy in the day you are not able to take lunch, then what will be your condition till the time you will be to take dinner.  Even if you take breakfast after getting up late then you will be late for the office and the day will start with BOSS’s scolding.

Now if we focus on the benefits of sleeping reasonably, then let us make a simple calculation. Suppose, a person sleep 8 hrs daily then in a month he is sleeping 240 hrs (30 days *8 hrs), and in a year he sleeps 2880 hrs (240 hrs * 12 months). If he reduces his sleep to 6 hrs daily which is a pretty sufficient amount of sleep then in a month he sleeps for 180 hrs (30 days *6hrs) and in a year he will sleep for 2160 hrs (180 hrs * 12 months). Now by doing simple subtraction you can see a if a person sleeps for an average 6 hrs daily he saves 720 hrs/year and it comes 60 hrs a month and if you want to be more specific then a total saving of 30 days/year is taking place.

Now, just think about it 30 days more in a year at your disposal, how much more work you can do, how much more you can earn, how much more time you can spend with your family and friends and these things will definitely make your life better.

So, say NO to oversleep and make your life bigger and better.
